A Personal Approach to Jewellery Making
I’m Jody, a London-based jewellery designer and maker with a BA in Jewellery and Silversmithing.
For me, jewellery making is more than creating something beautiful. It’s about exploring form, texture and character, allowing each design to develop through the making process.
Working primarily with sterling silver and gold, I enjoy creating jewellery that feels contemporary, distinctive and wearable.
The Beauty of Natural Gemstones
Natural gemstones are one of my greatest sources of inspiration.
From the captivating colours of opals to the deep richness of garnets and the understated elegance of black onyx, each gemstone offers something different.
Natural variations in colour, pattern and shape are part of what makes these stones so fascinating.
Rather than seeing these differences as imperfections, I embrace them as part of each gemstone’s individual character.
Made by Hand, With Intention
Handcrafting jewellery involves several stages, from forming and soldering precious metals to creating settings, securing gemstones and carefully finishing each piece.
These processes require patience, precision and an understanding of how different materials behave.
Small variations can naturally occur between handmade pieces, particularly when working with individually selected gemstones.
This is part of the charm of jewellery made by hand rather than mass-produced.
Jewellery to Wear and Treasure
My aim is to create jewellery that becomes part of someone’s personal story.
Whether it’s a delicate gemstone ring worn every day or a statement necklace chosen for a special occasion, I believe jewellery should feel meaningful to the person wearing it.
